Happy World Ocean Day! Today is a day to celebrate the oceans and everything that it does for us. Sometimes I think this often becomes out of sight out of mind. However, do not forget where the fish you eat comes from and also every second breath you take. This will have been produced by animals in the sea, phytoplankton to be exact. We should also take this day to learn about the destruction that we are also causing to the ocean. Due to climate change, this year alone one quarter of the Great Barrier Reef’s coral has bleached. Bleached is the term for corals dying. Really not a great situation and don’t get me started on what we are doing to the megafauna of the ocean!
Happy World Ocean Day! This year I feel a coral photo is appropriate especially after reading yesterday about the Great Barrier Reef. Coral reefs are really having a hard time at the moment which is not a good thing (photo taken at the Horniman museum) #worldoceansday #coral #coralreef #fish #nofilter
